About Grace

Scenic Artist, Environment Fabricator, and Storyteller

Artist Statement

I love creating environments that help people step into a story. Whether designing a first-century biblical village, dressing a historical film set, or sculpting landscapes for live theater, I enjoy transforming ordinary materials into places that invite curiosity, wonder, and meaningful experiences.

I believe the best scenic environments don't call attention to themselves—they quietly support the story being told.

About Grace

I discovered that what I enjoy most isn't simply creating individual pieces of art—it's creating places that invite people into a story.

As a Scenic Artist at Capernaum Studios, I've had the opportunity to help build immersive biblical environments, historical film sets, and live theatrical productions. Whether sculpting foam into realistic stone, painting scenic finishes, dressing a first-century home, or fabricating props for a film, I enjoy solving creative problems with my hands and collaborating with others to bring an environment to life.

Many of the projects I've worked on are rooted in history and faith, requiring careful attention to historical detail while supporting meaningful storytelling. I love the challenge of transforming ordinary materials into spaces that feel authentic, lived-in, and believable.

My Approach

I believe great scenic environments are built through equal parts craftsmanship, research, and collaboration.

Every project begins with understanding the story being told. From there, I enjoy exploring materials, textures, colors, and construction techniques that help audiences forget they're looking at a set and instead feel immersed in another place and time.

Whether I'm painting faux stone, fabricating scenery, dressing a set, or supporting a production during filming, my goal is always the same: to help create an environment that serves the story.

Experience

Since joining Capernaum Studios in 2024, I've contributed to a wide variety of productions and immersive experiences, including:

  • First-Century Wedding Feast

  • Garden Tomb Resurrection Experience

  • Washington's Armor: Bulletproof

  • Historical and biblical environments for live audiences

My work has included scenic fabrication, scenic painting, environmental design, set dressing, prop fabrication, historical styling, continuity, and production support.

Looking Ahead

I'm excited to continue growing as a scenic artist and production designer, especially in projects that combine craftsmanship, historical storytelling, and meaningful experiences. I enjoy working alongside creative teams that value collaboration, authenticity, and thoughtful design.

Whether building environments for film, live theater, museums, or faith-based productions, I'm always looking for opportunities to help bring stories to life.
